“Human rights”.

The following question has been posed at https://www.facebook.com/groups/filosoph/?fref=ts
”Is basic shelter and healthcare a human right???”

What are human rights? Human rights are in principle a human decision.
However, there is a basis of ethics and politics – contrary to what Alfred Ayer says.
In fact, it can be proved that an unavoidable basic of ethics and politics exists, i.e. a basis that you must agree in if you want to discuss this question and inquire into the subject at all.
The idea of this unavoidable basic of ethics and politics is therefore superior to this idea of human rights.
However, we can of course call the specific results of this basis “human rights”.

This is described further in this article and its references.
